Lots of us enjoyed mingling with the local farming community when we volunteered at ‘The Countryside Show’ once again. The top class show jumping was brought over from the horse events area and into the main arena and the traction engines, livestock, giant tortoises and veteran and vintage cars were a joy. Our local branch of RBL was there and competitions for best vegetables, flowers, ‘farmyard in a tray’, artwork and ‘scarecrow’ exhibits were lovely with lots of children entering. If you would like to volunteer at this huge local event next year, please let me (821443) or John Jones (821401) know – the show usually takes place on the first Saturday in July, a date for your diary whether volunteering or simply coming along to experience the show.
