ARCHERS’ DISPLAY
7 Feb 2026 • Other News
From March onwards, there will be an ARCHERS’ DISPLAY in the north aisle to CELEBRATE SEVENTY-FIVE YEARS since Bromsgrove resident Godfrey Baseley’s first BBC radio episode. His passion was to promote good farming practice among the farmers of post war Britain. Godfrey, known fondly as ‘God’, was a frequent visitor to Summerhill Farm in Hanbury and this is why Hanbury church was so frequently used for sound recordings and publicity photos. We have a fair amount of material in our archive but if anyone has any fresh anecdotal or photographic gems tucked away, we would be delighted to receive copies to display.
